Esquire Panelist to Present Industry Trends: Corporatizing Law Firms: We Have to Run This Place Like a Business

Atlanta, GA, October 15, 2014 – Esquire Deposition Solutions (www.esquiresolutions.com), the nation’s leading provider of court reporting, video, and translation services, is pleased to participate in the International Paralegal Management Association (IPMA) Annual Conference & Expo. The IPMA Annual Conference & Expo will be held at the Westin Buckhead in Atlanta, GA, October 15 – 17, 2014. IPMA members, consisting of a diversified group of paralegal managers in law firms and law departments from across the country and internationally, will attend the conference to stay abreast of the latest issues, products, services and technologies impacting the legal community.

A key topic that will be presented by Michael Saltman, President, Esquire Corporate Solutions, and Gary Melhuish, Manager of Litigation Support Services, Ballard Spahr, is the way that law firms have been changing over the past decade to operate like traditional businesses. In the session, Industry Trends: Corporatizing Law Firms: We Have to Run This Place Like a Business, Mr. Saltman and Mr. Melhuish will address how lawyers can be assisted through the decision-making and support process involving complex RFPs, project budgets, and detailed client audits of their internal practices.

“Practice support managers increasingly are being asked to participate in business development activities that require the generation of detailed information about their staff’s role in delivering legal services,” said Gary Melhuish. “This workshop is designed to give them a greater understanding of this emerging role.”

Paralegal managers will gain insight into how the legal industry is moving towards a more client-centric focus in addition to learning how to supervise projects and staff when the firm responds to an RFP, creates a budget or is engaged in a client audit. The Industry Trends: Corporatizing Law Firms: We Have to Run This Place Like a Business presentation will be held on Friday, October, 17, 2014, 2:15pm – 3:30pm.

“We are pleased to be part of a discussion topic that is trending to be on the forefront of the minds of many law firm leaders,” said Michael Saltman. “As more and more corporations reengineer the way they manage litigation and their outside counsel, it’s incumbent upon legal service providers to be able to distinguish themselves in the marketplace.”
